PA Cyber Receives Early Charter Renewal from State Department of Education

The achievement kicks off the school’s 25th year of teaching

June 23, 2025

Following a comprehensive review, the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) has granted the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School (PA Cyber) an early renewal of its charter as part of the state’s five-year review process. The new charter, effective July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2030, marks a significant milestone and reinforces the strength of PA Cyber’s dynamic, innovative offerings for K-12 students.

Since its founding in 2000, PA Cyber has provided children in Pennsylvania with a comprehensive school experience, including in-depth support services and enrichment opportunities.

“The PDE gave positive feedback to our performance and operations during the review process, leading to an early charter renewal,” said Brian Hayden, CEO of PA Cyber. “This is an exciting accomplishment going into our 25th year of teaching.”

“The early renewal of our charter reflects the dedication of our teachers, staff, students, and families,” said Steve Robinson, President of PA Cyber’s Board of Directors. “It’s also a promise for PA Cyber’s future. We strive to be the gold standard in cyber charter education and are committed to empowering every student to reach their full potential.”

The 2024–2025 school year in review:

  • 11,075 students
  • 1,042 graduates
  • 756 full-time and 38 part-time employees
  • 10 office locations statewide

PA Cyber looks forward to building on this success and continuing to provide high-quality, flexible education to students and families across Pennsylvania. Learn more here about what PA Cyber offers students when it comes to school choice.
